The October Meeting of Masters had a small turn-out; however, the material that was tranferred was unparelleled!  We have a Buddy night coming up in November, as well as the first SWAT tryouts.  Then, upcoming in December is the first Annual Dojo Holiday Party!  Osu!

We hope everyone is looking forward to a wonderful holiday season.  The dojo will be giving out a few awards at the Staff meeting on Wednesday; it's our first year we will have the pleasure of awarding them.  Also, the dojo will be closed just before Christmas and just before New Years.  2003 promises to be a unique, exciting year!

Sempai Martial Arts Academy is gearing up for the biggest business month of the year: September.  We have a huge goal this month; we want to gain 15 new students so that our Dojo really begins to grow.  Also beginning in September is a new class schedule and the Revolutionary Student Incentive Program, where exisiting students are rewarded with FREE merchandise for referring new students!  It's a great time at Sempai, and Sensei wishes everyone the best.

Coming up is the AOKA Isshinryu World Championships.  Much like last year, they will be held on a Saturday [13th] in Springfield, Massachusetts.  Sempai wishes the best of luck to all it's competitors as they embark on a new and exciting challenge.

We had another Buddy Night last Friday.  It was hectic, but we managed and it went very well.  The first Dojo Barbeque will be hosted at Sensei's parents' house this coming Saturday (18th).  Partying begins at 2:00 PM sharp, and ends when everyone has partied all they can.  Special recognition goes out to Danielle Buckley who will be turning 11 years old on the 18th (at the Barbeque)...HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Happy 20th Birthday to Sensei on April 18th.  We had an interesting and exciting birthday workout on the next day...lots of work, but lots of fun too.  Sensei will be traveling to see Hanshi on Saturday the 27th; if any Sempai black belts would like to attend, please let Sensei know.

Sempai did very well at the tournament.  Danielle won 4th; Mr. Wolff won 1st; and Sensei won 2nd!  Also, don't forget...coming up in May is our first year's celebration Dojo Barbeque at Sensei's.  More details to come on the May calendar.

Coming up on Sunday, April 7 is Doug King's Kumite Tournament in Newton Highschool.  Anyone who wants to go, just let Sensei know in advance.  It's not too far in the future: Sensei's Birthday Workout!  Sensei hopes everyone is ready for a great, intense workout that Friday.  The Dojo Movie Night seems to be a hit so Sensei has decided to do it again; this time the movie will be Zu Warriors.  As of yet the release date and view date are unknown.  Look for the May-June time frame though.

Added brand new Dojo Events page.  It has upcoming and tentative events in which Sempai will participate.  So, if any of these events--whether tournamnts, seminars, or fun outings--seem interesting to you, please let Sensei know.  It's good to have a general idea of the level of participation from the dojo so Sensei can determine what steps to take next.  Let us know what you think of this new page...sign our guestbook!

Sempai is growing; more students have been joining recently.  Sensei would like to take minute to recognize and thank all the new students for coming on-board.  A dojo is a place of training, but without a teacher and students, a dojo will not exist.  If anyone has questions, Sensei is available by e-mail, phone, or at the dojo.  Thank you everyone!

Sempai competed in the Samurai Spirit tournament in Long Island on March 3.  We did very well; we brought home a grand total of 12 awards!  Regardless of which place they were, Sensei is extremely proud of all his students for their efforts and great job throughout the day.  Osu!

Once again, this site has undergone some overt changes.  They are for the best since the frames, in this case, were more of a hinder than a help: now they are gone.  Upcoming in March; exactly one month from today actually is Hanshi Adler's Samurai Spirit Tournament in Port Jefferson, Long Island.  If you'd like to see the news from the previous year, it's now in the Archived News section of the website.  For now, it can be accessed by clicking here.
